Following the inspiration of its chosen patron, the Society is an association of Catholic laymen engaging in service to the poor. The work of the Society is in the service of God in the person of the poor, whom the Society is to assist by every means in their power, and to embrace, without distinction of creed or race, the poor, the sick, the infirm, and the unemployed.
